Occasionally, you get a job that was just made for you. When I was young, I was always sketching new kits for Aston Villa – that was before I even knew what graphic design was. I also drew dinosaurs, but that’s another matter.
So, we were delighted to get the opportunity to design a new logo and club kit for Bigfoot Cycle Club.

Based around Bromley and Kent, it’s a fast growing club and getting a bit of a reputation on the race circuit.

Not many projects bring two of your great loves together, but this one did – typography and the joy of wearing lycra. Now what can be better than that?
Chapeau Bigfoot.

Ok, so right now we have no phones or Internet (thanks BT). So what better time to try out the WordPress iPhone app? So far it’s crashed twice, the preview doesn’t work and there are only basic options for inserting images which is a bit of an issue for bespoke themes, like ours.

Anyway, thought you might like to see some pics from our Christmas afternoon tea at Claridges. Nothing says Christmas like turkey sandwiches, champagne and all the Earl Grey you can drink. Happy Christmas everyone.

Update: now we’re back online, I’ve amended this post as the WordPress app just ain’t right. Now you can enjoy an image of our afternoon tea and drool all you want.

We worked very closely with the team at Three to design the blog and they work very hard to keep it up to date and relevant.

The judges described the design as ‘well thought out, different, while remaining true to blog functionality.’ They liked the ‘imaginative means of interacting with their client base utilising a number of social and viral means’.

Congratulations to everyone involved. See what all the fuss is about here

2010 Rolling Roadshow Tour (A series of free screenings of famous movies, sponsored by Levi’s and Alamo Cinema).

All the posters are reminiscent of the one and only Saul Bass, who created some of the most famous and iconic movie posters of all time.

Bass was also responsible for memorable title sequences, for North by Northwest, Vertigo, and Psycho. It was this kind of innovative, revolutionary work that made Bass a revered graphic designer.

The worlds first MP3 player was sold in 1997 by a Korean company called SaeHan Information Systems. It was introduced in the US in 1998 as the EigerMan F20V. While it was not the first ever digital music player, it was the first that was commercially available. Thing is, you don’t remember it do you? It would be another 4 years until apple introduce the iPod – now you’ve heard of that, right?

Is it really a case of innovate or die..? Makes you think…

“Among business gurus, few things are as unquestioned as the notion that innovation is the route to success. “Innovate or die!” goes one mantra, usually followed by a hackneyed reference to everyone’s favourite innovator, Thomas Edison, whose persistence resulted in the invention of the lightbulb. (What appeared above his head when he got the idea?) Yet if innovation was a surefire way for companies to achieve dominance, the world – or consumer capitalism, anyway – might look very different. If you’re British, you’re unlikely to have eaten a burger at White Castle, the chain that invented fast food; it’s even less likely you’ve drunk RC Cola, the first cola, or paid for either with a Diners Club card: all were innovators, now long eclipsed. Nor, if you’re wondering, am I writing this on a Remington Rand computer.” Read the full article here…

zoomedia made the front page of The Metro today (well, sort of). Working with Three’s in-house design team, we created the identity design for Three’s new tariff called The One Plan. The brand identity graced the front and back covers, following our guidelines, as part of their campaign push. If you want us to sign a copy, just pop in and we’ll do the honours!
