Occasionally, you get a job that was just made for you. When I was young, I was always sketching new kits for Aston Villa – that was before I even knew what graphic design was. I also drew dinosaurs, but that’s another matter.
So, we were delighted to get the opportunity to design a new logo and club kit for Bigfoot Cycle Club.

Based around Bromley and Kent, it’s a fast growing club and getting a bit of a reputation on the race circuit.

Not many projects bring two of your great loves together, but this one did – typography and the joy of wearing lycra. Now what can be better than that?

The judges described the design as ‘well thought out, different, while remaining true to blog functionality.’ They liked the ‘imaginative means of interacting with their client base utilising a number of social and viral means’.

All the posters are reminiscent of the one and only Saul Bass, who created some of the most famous and iconic movie posters of all time.

Bass was also responsible for memorable title sequences, for North by Northwest, Vertigo, and Psycho. It was this kind of innovative, revolutionary work that made Bass a revered graphic designer.

The worlds first MP3 player was sold in 1997 by a Korean company called SaeHan Information Systems. It was introduced in the US in 1998 as the EigerMan F20V. While it was not the first ever digital music player, it was the first that was commercially available. Thing is, you don’t remember it do you? It would be another 4 years until apple introduce the iPod – now you’ve heard of that, right?

Is it really a case of innovate or die..? Makes you think…
