Factor001

by Rob 27. January 2010 06:49

What happens when engineers from the world of F1 design a bicycle? Well, you get the Factor001, which I've just decided is something that I must have. Apparently "The latest finite element analysis (FEA) codes were used to simulate the rider's inputs and the effects of varying road conditions. The end result was a structure that is light, comfortable and capable of turning every last ounce of the rider's effort into efficient forward motion". All I want to know is - will it get me up Star Hill any quicker?
Oh, forgot to mention - its £25k! So thats a 'no' then.

3 blog

by Rob 10. December 2009 04:18

zoomedia have just completed the design and development of 3’s blog. The blog is built on a Wordpress platform, using a custom theme designed by us. The blog gives 3 a new channel to interact with their customers, showcase new phones and get feedback (good and bad). It also represents a conscious effort by 3 to embrace social media as a way to engage with customers and zoomedia will be helping them along the way.

South Molton & Brook Street identity

by Rob 18. November 2009 09:31

We've just finised designing the new Brand Identity for South Molton & Brook Street and last night our logo was shown for the first time during the Christmas lights switch on event. The branding itself is deliberately simple and elegant (a bit like us) to compliment the exclusive shops, restaurants and hotels, which includes Claridges.
Of course we were there to celebrate the switch on of the lights and enjoy a few glasses of champagne.
If only it could always be like this!

Christmas comes early

by Rob 9. November 2009 10:36

At zoomedia, Christmas is already done and dusted. We've created some funky, festive flash pop-ups for
3's Christmas offers. We've also designed a lovely background for their website, produced some ad banners, nowlets and product specific landing pages for their customer portal, Planet3.

Next week we'll let you know about the work we're doing with Regent Street Association for the Christmas lights switch on at South Molton Street.

Now, did someone mention Easter?

100dayJourney

by Rob 20. October 2009 06:39

100dayJourney is the brainchild of Javier Bajer and Craig Heaven at Workforce Performance. It is an application designed to encourage behavioural change and is currently being championed by HSBC and Accenture. We've known Javier for a long time, he was actually our first client! So we were delighted that he asked us to get involved in this very exciting project. zoomedia have been responsible for the brand design and UI design, while some very clever people at thoughtworks were responsible for the technology. Craig and Javier believe that 100dayJourney will change the way people work and live and we think they could be right!

On your (electric) bike!

by Rob 13. October 2009 04:32

We went to the cycle show at Earls Court and were lucky enough to try out a few bikes on their track. We were both taken by the gocycle bike, which, at the push of a button, becomes an electric bike with a top speed of 15mph. Doesn't sound like much, but on the small, twisty indoor track at Earl's Court, it felt pretty nippy! Its also a great piece of product design, with clean lines and simple engineering. I also got the chance to ride a Moulton, which I've allways wanted to try. Don't tell the wife, but I must have one!

Apart from that, the show was fun, even if it felt a little down on last years event, with the notable exclusion of Rapha and another one of our favourites, enigma.

zoomedia exhibition

by Rob 7. October 2009 12:28

zoomedia have been comissioned to produce a series of outdoor art installations. Ok, thats a lie, but you now have a chance to get up close and personal with some of our work. That is, if you happen to visit one of many CityLoo sites in Westminster. We've stripped out the old confusing signage, planned the wayfinding and designed beautiful, clean graphics to spruce up the interior and exterior of CityLoo's toilets.

Baker Street is next on the list. The map on the sign shows you where you can view zoomedia's work for free (but you'll have to pay to use the loos).

You're not a design agency unless you've done a spinning globe!

by Paolo 4. September 2009 11:37

Urban myth or not, who knows. What we do know is that a client of ours wanted a spinning globe on their new website - and we duly obliged. Welcome back spinning graphic. Now then, have we got a logo we can set fire to?

Working with three

by Rob 10. August 2009 04:16

We've been working with three to update the look and feel of their website. After a re-brand excercise, we've been drafted in to update all areas of the website and the mobile broadband user screens. Its an ongoing job and there's plenty to do, but the first phase is now live. www.three.co.uk

So long old server

by Paolo 1. July 2009 09:58

Well, what a day. Not so much the heat, but the fact that we said goodbye to an old friend - our Server 1. It's done us proud for 7 years, but as ever, a better looking model has come on to the market and we're smitten. This means that the websites we host for you will be more secure, more stable and quicker. Not that exciting to a designer like me (a new font, now you're talking), but some people love it!
